Fall apple 7 course meal

10/1/18
Today we hosted our 4th 7 course meal (2nd since we have been married)! This was our first Fall themed meal, and it was made even more unique by the apples that were featured in every course. We used the apples we picked last week at BJ Reece orchards, and homemade everything from scratch!
Thank you to our guests: Brandon’s parents and grandparents! We like to try new recipes for these meals and family is always a safe taste tester. Each course was accompanied by a fun question (typed beforehand and hidden beneath each guest’s placemat) that everyone had to answer. We also had a mid point break for a Fall themed trivia quiz, complete with prize (a little orange pumpkin!)
So without further adieu:
Our table set up and flat Megan feature. We had lead placemats and each course used my maternal grandmother’s china (gifted to me for my wedding by my aunt). The center bread basket was a recent birthday gift from Brandon’s Aunt Christy!

The invitations, one of the most important parts of any good party in my opinion! They’re handmade from construction paper, and included a menu! (our address is marked out).

And finally, the food!
Course 1: appetizers
Apple bacon quesadillas and apple meatballs:

Course 2: salad
Spinach apple salad (craisins, cheese, almonds). We made our guests bring their own salad dressing because neither one of us use dressing!

Course 3: soup
Sweet potato and apple soup

Course 4: fish
apple cider glazed salmon and asparagus

Course 5: sorbet
Green apple sorbet served in apples.
We actually used golden delicious apples to make this, and added green food coloring. We also froze the apples that served as bowls to make them less mushy and apt to turn brown.

Course 6: meat
Apple butter pork chops and potatoes

Course 7: dessert
Apple crumb cake
