Savannah, Georgia

March 14-16, 2018
It’s our last undergraduate Spring break and we are spending it in Georgia! We spent a couple days in Atlanta before driving down to Savannah for a quick 3 day trip. I have never been to the city before (that I can remember), and was excited to spend some time with Brandon’s family in the city whose name I share.
Day 1:
We arrived around 4 pm and spent a couple hours walking down to the river front and exploring the shops and taking in the sights of the historic city. We had dinner at the Pirate House and ice cream at Leopold’s before wrapping up for the night at the Spring Hill Marriott.
Day 2:
Savannah has 22 squares (it was the first planned city), and it is laid out in a grid pattern with greenery and towering trees spaced between every few blocks. We visited each and every one, noting the unique personality of each. We also shopped on Broughton street, pursued the City Market, having lunch at Wet Willies, and visited Forsythe Park. We had an early dinner at the River House, before going on a ghost tour, visiting the most haunted house in Savannah (Sorrel Weed House). We finished with another visit to Leopold’s!
Day 3:
We walked down to Broughton and City market once more, watching as the locals and tourists prepared for the biggest event of the year in Savannah. Signs were being hung and specials written on menus, all in green of course! We walked down the river front once more, having lunch at the Cotton Exchange Tavern before heading out of the city to visit Bonaventure Cemetery and Wormsloe Plantation (the most gorgeous part of the whole trip!)
