We spent last weekend in Colorado Springs for my Aunt Karen’s retirement ceremony. She retired from the Air Force as a 2 star General, and we were so honored to be able to witness all of the wonderful things people had to say about her as she finished her over 30 years of service. We also loved the extra time with family, seeing my cousins and Grandad for the second time this year (they also came to Tennessee for our wedding in May). The weather was beautiful, and Friday morning was spent hiking in Castlewood Canyon, a big change in scenery for us Southerners. We stood in awe at the vast rocks and bubbling brook in the western plains, and had a great time being active.
