2019 NCPA Annual Convention Day 2

10/27/2019

On Sunday we woke up bright and early for a breakfast honoring Congressman Buddy Carter, the only pharmacist serving in the House of Representatives.

We heard from Rolf Benirschke and Bill Osborn at the opening session.

I even got to meet Tom Menighan, the CEO of APhA.

Then I headed over to coffee with Allie Jo, one of my mentors and a Mercer alumni. I also was able to meet with Micah Cost, the director of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association.

I was also able to speak to all the state pharmacy association state executives at the NASPA meeting regarding student involvement and the process for setting up the Student Leadership Board within GPhA. Congressman Buddy Carter spoke at this meeting as well.

We then went to the exposition. There were so many interesting booths representing all kinds of products and services. We got to catch up with Dr. Bindhu Batra, one of our favorite PCCA representatives.

I also got to present my first research poster!

Then we headed to the awards ceremony where our chapter accepted the 1st Runner Up for Chapter of the Year.

We celebrated with Dr. Sharon Sherrer, who was awarded Preceptor of the Year.

Liddy, Jasper, and I also received the Presidential Scholarship this year.

Finally, we headed to the Mercer alumni dinner and were so excited to network with them all.

What an amazing experience, I am so glad to have attended my second NCPA Annual Convention.
