Policy on Tap 2019

10/1/2019

To start American Pharmacists Month, Mercer’s chapter of APhA-ASP and NCPA hosted our 9th annual Policy on Tap event! This year it was held at Tucker Brewing Company and we had over 80 students in attendance. We hosted two wonderful speakers who were huge proponents of HB233 and HB323 that passed in the most recent legislative session in Georgia, Dr. Jennifer Shannon and Representative David Knight.

The venue was so fun, and we decorated with photos of students from previous years and maps of the senate and house of representative districts. We also provided yummy food!

The event is all about Policy, so we had a Policy post card station, APhA-ASP Resolution voting station, and fun Policy pocket guides!

We gave away several raffle prizes throughout the night to students in attendance.

At the end of the night, we presented the GPhA PharmPAC with a $500 check! Thank you to Greg Reybold and Bob Coleman for attending and for all your work to support our profession and the patients we serve!

The Mercer student pharmacists who are on the GPhA Student Leadership Board were all in attendance and excited to participate in the event!

We had huge groups of Mercer P1s, P2s, and P3s all in attendance!

We had some awesome opportunities to network with our speakers and GPhA representatives.

Thank you to my sweet husband and bestie girls for coming to help support the event!

Thank you to Representative David Knight for sponsoring HB233 last year that is leading the nation on the fight against PBMs. You are an inspiration to all of us!

Huge thank you to Liddy Cronan, NCPA President, Anna Green, APhA-ASP Policy Vice President, and Seth Harrison, NCPA President-elect and APhA-ASP Policy Vice President-Elect for all your hard work planning this event!
