It felt like about time for another seven course meal, so I decided to host one while staying in Tennessee at my parent’s house during my time off from rotations. This one had a special twist, because each course also came with a special drink (all mocktails, of course)!
Course 1: Appetizers. Charcuterie skewers (Swiss, pecorino, and aged cheddar cheese plus prosciutto) and gluten free cheddar biscuits. The drink was a cranberry pomegranate with rosemary and fresh cranberry garnish.
Course 2: Salad. Mandarin orange, walnut, dried cranberry spinach salad. The drink was a peppermint Shirley temple (the glasses are rimmed with chocolate and red sprinkles)!
Course 3: Soup. Carrot & cauliflower soup. The drink was a cold apple cider with lemon and apple slice garnishes.
Course 4: Seafood. Homemade crab cake & roasted Brussel sprouts. The drink was a gingerbread milkshake (the glasses are rimmed with nutmeg).
Course 5: Sorbet. Orange sorbet served in half orange slices. The drink was an orange creamsicle (vanilla ice cream and orange soda served with an orange garnish).
Course 6: Beef. Beef brisket (this is the one thing I did NOT make–it is from Mission BBQ) and roasted potatoes. The drink was a cinnamon egg nog (the glasses are rimmed with cinnamon, and it was served with a cinnamon stick).
Course 7: Dessert. Gluten free chocolate cake garnished with fresh cranberries. The drink was a chocolate vanilla swirl served with whipped cream (the glasses are rimmed with chocolate and white sprinkles).
Thank you to my all my family who were my guests and guinea pigs for all my new recipes!
