This week I had the privilege of attending the ACA/ACVP Annual Conference & Expo as one of the recipients of the Pharmacists Mutual/ ACA Foundation Community Pharmacy Scholarship. I feel so honored to have been chosen and I am so glad I got to come and meet so many amazing pharmacists in the field. ACA is the American College of Apothecaries, and ACVP is the American College of Veterinary Pharmacists, and as I have a heavy interest in compounding and veterinary pharmacy (as my dad is a veterinarian), this was a perfect conference for me. It was in beautiful St. Pete’s Beach at the Don Cesar Resort, and it was an absolutely amazing week!

I flew in late Tuesday night in order to be able to attend board meetings for both ACA and ACVP all day on Wednesday. I am very interested in pursuing a career in association management, so these were such an amazing learning experience for me and I felt so lucky to be included.
We got a delicious lunch in between meetings, and I even got a few minutes of beach time and dinner by the pool before the evening reception.

The evening reception was held on the rooftop terrace with a gorgeous sunset view over the ocean. What a great place to network!
2/20/2020
The next morning, I was up bright and early for breakfast and to attend the State of the College report given by CEO Susan Bartlemay and the Presidents of both ACA and ACVP, Steve Pryor and Gigi Davidson. After this, I attended several CE sessions to learn more about the practice of pharmacy, and specifically veterinary pharmacy!
Next up was an Awards Luncheon, during which all the new ACA and ACVP Fellows were inducted, and new board members recognized. I also received my scholarship and gave a quick speech as well! Thank you again to Pharmacists Mutual and the ACA, ACVP, and ACA Foundation Board members for the honor of this award.
After lunch was a few more CE sessions before the ACA Foundation Board Meeting.
My mom and I decided to venture out to downtown St. Pete’s for dinner, and ended up at a cute waterfront restaurant by the marina, Fresco’s.

Friday morning came with another yummy breakfast and a few CE sessions before heading off on my flight to the next conference of the week (TPA Winter Meeting)! It was such an honor to attend and meet so many welcoming pharmacists, and I hope to continue my involvement in ACA and ACVP for years to come.
