Day 3 may have been the most exciting finale to a convention I have ever experienced! We started with a session on independent pharmacy ownership led by McKesson expert Jim Springer. Students gained insight into the resources offered by McKesson.
We then assembled all the sandcastle contest teams and made time for some quick networking.
Then we headed back to Student Central for the student lunch provided graciously by GPhA. We even managed to get a group photo of some of the students in attendance representing all 4 schools.
Next was a Student Leadership Board meeting to go through everything we have accomplished during the convention and suggestions for improving next year! Student attendance was up 112% from last year’s convention, and we hope to continue growing it!
Finally was time for the Georgia Pharmacy Foundation sand castle contest! All 4 schools had a team, along with NCPA, the GPhF, and a couple others. Everyone worked hard on their amazing designs, and rubber ducks were used as the voting system!
After the fun in the sand, we got cleaned up for the President’s Bash! What a night of fun, dancing, and delicious food! What a great way to wrap up the convention.
I am forever grateful for the opportunity to take on a leadership role in my state pharmacy association.
